Brad Pitt has a drinking problem? Sure, we’ve seen him holding a beer or a glass of wine (and presumably drinking it), but that doesn’t mean he should be in rehab…Couple more pics after the jump According to sources, Pitt enrolled in an alcohol/cleansing program with a top spiritual/rehab counselor. He wanted to be free from alcohol dependency.

A pal said, “Brad’s been very stressed out for months. Things have not been going very well for him. “He needs a change and a fresh start. If he didn’t seek the counselling he might have died, that’s how bad it’s been.”

The source added, “He’s doing well above the required threshold for recovery. He’ll be fine. He’s a great person and great father. He’s turned to his family and an old friend for support. Finally, he got a big wake up call that was long overdue.”Maybe he didn’t have a drinking problem per se, but felt it would be better if he avoided alcohol completely to set an example for this kids?

Not that having a beer is a bad example, but maybe Brad was afraid his drinking would get out of hand? You’d think with that many young kids you would need a beer now and then to keep your sanity. Just kidding…Or, maybe he and Angelina are trying to get pregnant (if she’s not already) and she wanted him to cut out the booze for that purpose?
