Angelina Jolie apparently knows how to dole out the tough love. During the pre-release hype for her new movie Wanted, co-star James McAvoy was asked what it was like to do a romantic scene with a woman many consider the most beautiful in the world. His answer may surprise you.
Millions of men may fantasize about filming a love scene with the enchanting Jolie, but judging from the experience of someone who has, they might want to think twice before lip-locking with her. McAvoy recently told In Touch it was "not very nice" kissing Jolie while the cameras were rolling. "It was awkward, sweaty and not very nice,” he says. “There was angst involved in that, as always. I don’t think [Jolie's partner] Brad Pitt felt threatened for one moment.”
Jolie and McAvoy both found love on a movie set, but not with each other. Jolie met and fell in love with Pitt while filming the 2005 blockbuster Mr. and Mrs. Smith. McAvoy and his wife, actress Anne-Marie Duff, also met when they co-starred in a BBC drama called Shameless!
Industry experts predict Wanted will hold its own against the much-hyped animated film Wall-E, but will probably not top this weekend's box office. DeadlineHollyoodDaily.com estimates the Pixar/Disney flick could rake in as much as $70 million this weekend on back of solid reviews, which would put it at or near the top of the list for summer blockbusters.
Meanwhile, Universal is hoping Wanted will gross $35 million to $40 million from the 3,175 venues it's showing in over the weekend. The film may appeal to both men and women because of Jolie’s strong character, which takes it one step beyond action-adventure to potential "date movie" territory, expanding its box-office appeal.
